My husband and I enjoyed a night at the Soldier Creek Winery in Iowa. It was our very first big RV trip, and also our first Harvest Hosts experience. We had an awesome time there and I’m so excited to share about it.
Date nights have been hard to come by lately. We have been a little busy getting our house on the market, picking out our RV, and selling everything we own. Because of that, we were extra excited when my folks generously offered to come get the kids early and bring them to Missouri. This gave us the opportunity to finish up with the house, AND get some much needed quality time on the way South!
Time to get in the RV and head out!

After that, hubby and I were free to make our way from Minnesota to Missouri slowly. Our first stop was at a Harvest Hosts location in Fort Dodge, Iowa. We got out of Minnesota later than we had originally planned (of course). So, we pulled into the Soldier Creek Winery after dark. The owner, Bill, personally came out and gave us a warm welcome, then he helped us get the RV parked in the right spot.
We parked the RV behind the winery building in a nice quiet spot with plenty of room to maneuver.

It was a long day of driving, (ok I just rode. Ryan did all the driving), and we were ready to relax with a glass of wine. We were not disappointed. We got wine flights to sample all of our options. The wine was delicious, and the entertainment was a fun surprise. We sipped our wine and relaxed to a variety of tunes including “Puff the Magic Dragon” and “Country Roads, Take Me Home.”
Time to relax.

We had a great night and turned in early. In the morning, we were greeted with a gorgeous sunrise over the grain fields with grain silos in the background. We got up early to walk the grounds and get some photos.

Our night at the Soldier Creek Winery was a much needed respite after a crazy couple of months getting ready for RV life. We would definitely recommend and will certainly return for another pour.
