Homemade Lemon Basil Ice Cream

As summer comes to a close,BBQ’s start to die down and the evenings become cooler, what makes a refreshing dessert to end the evening ? Lemon Basil Ice Cream!

I love making homemade ice cream with my Kitchenaid Ice Cream attachment. I found this zesty, creamy, light and fluffy lemon flavor with a hint of basil to be my favorite ice cream of the summer. I never would have thought to put basil in ice cream, but I saw the recipe on Baking Bytes blog and fell in love with the refreshing, savory flavor.

Picking basil from my garden gave it a strong basil taste! Perfect for a hot summers evening to wind down from a busy day!

    In the future, if you are not going to alter the recipe at all I’d prefer you just linked to it instead of reprinting the whole thing. =)

        They definitely can be hit or miss. I also don’t use any that require cooking eggs so I tend to modify a lot. They are fun to come up with though! And glad other people get uses out of them. =)
